NORTH CAROLINA

My mom and I went for a long weekend to visit my brother, Josh, for his birthday in October.  We had a great time catching up.  We stayed at Josh and Carrie's new home in Raleigh, which is a beautiful colonial-style home.  Unfortunately, Brent couldn't take off from work.  Carrie also had to work; so we only saw her during our time in Raleigh.  So it was the original three for much of the week.  Although we missed the spouses, it was the first time for the three of us to get away together in YEARS.

We toured UNC and did some shopping for our soccer fans.  We also went to Duke, which is such a gorgeous campus.

The following day we drove up into the mountains via Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville, where we stayed for a couple of nights.  Josh took us to see The Biltmore, which was gorgeous.

Josh and I hiked Linville Falls.  He wanted to get some photos for Mema to use for a couple of paintings for him.

We had a wonderful trip.  North Carolina was beautiful.  The trees were changing and the fall foliage was so pretty.  Thank you, Josh & Carrie.
