PENSACOLA BEACH

We had Southwest vouchers that we needed to use.  So we chose to do a quick and easy trip to the Florida coast.  It was a super relaxing trip, just what I needed for my week-long break between grad semesters (and after wrapping up a crazy school year).  My wonderful hubby surprised me one afternoon by dropping me off at an incredible spa for pampering.  He'd called early in the week and set up the works!  Thanks, Babe!  You're the best hubby a girl could have!

Area around the Pier on Pensacola Beach

It was much quieter on our end of the beach.
We drove to Destin one day to hang out since it was raining.  On our way back, we took the scenic route and discovered the Gulf Islands National Seashore.  So that is where we decided to go from then on.  The area is protected from development.  It's just east of Pensacola Beach.  It was AMAZING!  As you can see it's gorgeous, and we pretty much had the beach to ourselves!!!

WINTER PARK

Oddly enough, Brent and I had never been skiing/snowboarding together.  We figured it was about time since we both enjoyed it during high school and college!  We had a blast.  Brent is again obsessed and has demanded a yearly trip.  I'd forgotten how beautiful Colorado is!!!

We stayed in Winter Park Village, which was incredible.  Everything was just across the street from the condo we rented; the slopes, restaurants, shops.  The village was really cute.  We took the shuttle to the downtown area our last day and saw a little more of the area.

We had to continually map out where we would split and join back up (since he was snowboarding, and I was skiing).  I also found myself to be MUCH more cautious than when I was young.  So I left the more adventurous routes to Brent this time.

There he is!  I was shocked (although I don't know why) how natural Brent was after so much time had passed.

We ate dinner at The Lodge at Sunspot during our last night.  It was AMAZING!  The views are incredible, as it sits on top of the mountain. You have to take the ski lift to get there.  The food was excellent as well.  It was a romantic ending to a wonderful trip.  I do love getting away with my man.  He's the easiest travel partner ever, and we always have a blast (even if we're sitting at home on the couch).
