NIAGARA FALLS

Our tour to Niagara Falls was amazing! We had heard that the Canadian side was better, but we both preferred the American side (of the falls, the Canadian town was more beautiful) where you got to feel the scale of it. We went on the Maid of the Mist and went through the Cave of the Winds. It was a nice break from the city to enjoy the beautiful falls!

CANADA: Montreal, Toronto, Thousand Islands

We had a good time in Canada. We went to Montreal, Toronto and to Thousand Islands. The highlight was definitely the Thousand Islands boat tour! It was so beautiful and so neat to see all of the little homes on their own tiny islands. This is a must see if you go to Niagara Falls!

PHILADELPHIA

On Saturday Brent and I got up early and went to Philly for the day. We pretty much covered it all in 12 hours! It was a blast! The famous LOVE sculpture by Indiana
The Modern Art Museum...."Rocky" steps....yes, we ran them!
Edgar Allen Poe's house
Brent under the frame of (what use to be) Benjamin Franklin's home
Independence Park
Washington Square Park's tomb of the unknown soldier
The new city hall
Sculpture by Claus Oldenburg. My students in 3D Design study him. Philadelphia has many of his sculptures.

Chassidic Discovery Walking Tour

This tour was great! It was so interesting and our two guides were so nice! I recommend doing this tour if you are interested in religion and have time in NY. It is amazing both the similarities and differences between the Jewish and Christian faiths.

Brooklyn Bridge

Brent and I walked to the Brooklyn Bridge and over to Brooklyn Heights on Wednesday. There is a long promenade with views of Manhattan. We later walked the bridge again to get night pics. We are doing lots of walking (at least 9 miles this day)! I forgot how convenient and nice it is not to drive around. I am going to feel very lazy when we get back to Dallas.

BOSTON

Brent and I took a 2 day tour from NYC to Boston. It definitely wasn't long enough! We had a good time and have many HILARIOUS stories from the journey!

Our first stop was at Yale. Here is the statue of Nathan Hale.

Mystic Aquarium was the next stop. We got to see the beluga whales among other animals.
We went to the Breakers Mansion, a vacation home for the Vanderbuilts. It is incredible! So beautiful and ornate!
Finally, we arrived in Boston in the early evening. It is a gorgeous city, and we will definitely go back!
Brent enjoying his slice from Pizzeria Regina. Thanks Lauren & Tyler for the wonderful suggestion! It was terrific! I wish we had time to also visit Giacomo's.
The following morning we went first to Harvard. The campus is so beautiful. The library is below, the fourth largest in the world.

M.I.T. followed. The building below was designed by I.M. Pei.
Trinity Church

We went on a boat tour around the harbor. There were some gorgeous views!

Lastly, we went to Quincy Market for lunch and shopping. We enjoyed Boston so much and can't wait to go back sometime!
