Brooklyn Bridge
Brent and I walked to the Brooklyn Bridge and over to Brooklyn Heights on Wednesday. There is a long promenade with views of Manhattan. We later walked the bridge again to get night pics. We are doing lots of walking (at least 9 miles this day)! I forgot how convenient and nice it is not to drive around. I am going to feel very lazy when we get back to Dallas.
BOSTON
Brent and I took a 2 day tour from NYC to Boston. It definitely wasn't long enough! We had a good time and have many HILARIOUS stories from the journey!
Our first stop was at Yale. Here is the statue of Nathan Hale.

Mystic Aquarium was the next stop. We got to see the beluga whales among other animals.
We went to the Breakers Mansion, a vacation home for the Vanderbuilts. It is incredible! So beautiful and ornate!
Finally, we arrived in Boston in the early evening. It is a gorgeous city, and we will definitely go back!
Brent enjoying his slice from Pizzeria Regina. Thanks Lauren & Tyler for the wonderful suggestion! It was terrific! I wish we had time to also visit Giacomo's.
The following morning we went first to Harvard. The campus is so beautiful. The library is below, the fourth largest in the world.

More Adventures
We went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex one afternoon, which is really close to our place. They have a special John Lennon exhibit right now, which was awesome. We really enjoyed this museum!
We then headed to Kieth Haring's POP SHOP, but found out that they had shut the doors. We did happen upon this famous mural of his. About a week later we walked back by (it is very close to our apt), and some artists were doing a new mural over it. I was so excited that we saw it before they did away with it, partly because I have my students study this artist in Intro. Art.
We have walked around West Village and Greenwich Village a lot. We love all of the little neighborhoods in the area! Below we are eating dinner at Cowboys. We loved this place!
Another day we did the NBC tour. It was pretty interesting. Here we are behind a news desk. Scary thought!
July the 4th!
Brent, Sandra, Jennifer, and I went on a tour in the morning. Then we had lunch at the Archers' place in midtown (where we joined Kevin and Mickey) before heading over to wait for the fireworks. It was awesome! We got a table at P.D. O'Hurleys where we ate, played cards, and waited for the show!
